Linda and Rick hatched the idea of Lafayette & Rushford Home in the stock room of a local department store.  Sharing a love (some would say obsession) of style and fun, they formed a friendship and imaginary business partnership.  A decade of hard work, humor and happenstance led to the formation of Mistletoe Mania, a custom holiday decorating service.  The decorating duo brought their unique design sensibilities to homes and offices around central Florida.

Word spread, and so did their reputation of imagination and taste.  In the fall of 2001 they took the plunge and opened a small (some would say tiny) space in Dunedin, FL.  Within two years Linda and Rick expanded to Mistletoe House, where the retail space could be showcased as a home, offering unexpected accessories for every room.

Everything was coming up roses, with one fly in the ointment: Mistletoe House sounds like a holiday store.  Linda and Rick faced the  dilemma of departing from the name they  had become known for without cutting ties with what they had spent so many years building.  Alas, when the opportunity to expand yet again in 2008 arose, our feathered friend Flip was born.  Along with him came the name Lafayette & Rushford Home.  The new title and mascot was a salute to the duo’s respective home towns mixed with an exciting look forward.

Today, over a decade from the department store, Lafayette & Rushford Home Online brings style to every room, for everyone.
